Proudly Supporting Missions Overseas

Missio Ireland is proud to be the Holy Father’s official charity for overseas mission and part of a global network serving the Church in over 120 countries. Through the kindness and generosity of the Irish faithful, we strive to help the Church to share the joy of the Gospel in some of the most remote corners of the world, primarily in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

To help build and maintain vibrant Christian communities, we raise spiritual and financial support by highlighting the vital work of missionaries who are living out their faith more fully through their charitable work and projects overseas.

Overseas missionaries fulfil much more than just the spiritual needs for some of the world’s poorest people. They also provide practical and social support, offering struggling communities the skills and tools they need to relieve poverty and injustice.

Their needs vary greatly. This could be anything from a motorbike so a priest can celebrate Mass in a remote village, to a church or community hall so local people can gather and celebrate their faith. More urgently, it could be medical supplies or vaccinations to protect communities from diseases and viruses or providing feeding and education programmes.
